Chapter 2: P6

Trove On The Go: An Elegant Design with Colorful Farmhouse Charm

Sometimes a design marries multiple different styles in a way that just works. French provincial curves, rustic farmhouse charm and colorful modern touches all mingle together in this beautiful Dublin, OH home to create a design that's bold, livable and classic.

When we walked into Jackie's home, she greeted us with a smile to match her bright and cheery formal dining room. She and her Trove On The Go designer chose these custom Karina dining chairs wrapped in a cranberry cotton velvet fabric to bring a timeless and punchy addition. They worked with her existing dining table and rug to pull together the tones in the space from buttery yellow, to deep red and clean snowy white.

Jackie's parents were born and raised on a Pennsylvania farm and she inherited many of the pieces in her home from her grandparents collection. She found this gorgeous vintage wash basin at a farmers' market in Pennsylvania and we think it brings beautiful warmth and character to this corner of the dining room.

A collage of bright, playful art pieces fill the wall opposite the built-in beadboard shelving. Jackie and her designer chose to keep design of the shelves simple and visually consistent with white china and touches of green. Isn't the vintage dough bowl centerpiece an absolutely beautiful finishing touch?

Layers of complementary pattern create interest and depth in the living room. The Galen tufted leather ottoman makes a statement with its lightly marbled chocolate leather to create a piece that's not only gorgeous, but also comfortable for kicking your feet up. One of our favorite Kara swivel chairs in this modern gold and cream patterned fabric brings warmth and a contemporary accent to the room.

The classic rolled arms of the Capri sofas in this light herringbone fabric give them a relaxed, welcoming feel. Jackie and her designer finished the living room with the Saxon chandelier which effortlessly lights the space with delicate iron arms and a grand presence.

The dining space off of the kitchen welcomes family dinners and Sunday morning breakfasts with ease and simplicity. They chose to slip-cover the Sterling dining chairs in a beachy striped linen fabric to bring lightness to the Links dining table and the Chantelaine iron chandelier. Each space in Jackie's home has its own custom window treatments that she worked with her designer to select and we have to say, these amazing mustard cafe curtains might just be our favorite!

The openness of the kitchen and living area allow four custom Freida counter stools to take center stage. They chose to have them upholstered in this spicy crimson fabric and added an oversized nailhead trim to make them pop. A windowpane frame allows their beautiful fabric choice to shine from every angle.

Two Myra high-back wing chairs in a sapphire velvet bring classic elegance and create a space for Jackie and her family to sit and listen to their favorite songs on the grand piano. Jackie's mother was a talented organist and she displays the pages from her signature piece adorned with handwritten notes on a music stand in this sunlit room.

We love how much fun Jackie and her designer had playing with color and pattern. The Evette ottoman upholstered in this springy green damask fabric is a perfect example! Working with her existing pieces and incorporating new custom items, they created a beautiful home that feels approachable and comfortable, yet still polished and thoughtful. If you're looking to add a little color to your home, stop into Trove and we can help you find your perfect piece!

Happy Designing!
