Chapter 1: P11

Making a House A Home: From Rustic Farmhouse to Updated Condo

As much fun as it is to create designs on paper with our customers, it's even better to see their homes come to life in person! This beautiful condo in Pickerington, OH, came together in just a few months after Pam and her husband downsized from their family's farmhouse. They had a vision of creating a more modern space that was still comfortable and inviting and we worked room by room to choose the perfect collection of finds for their new home.

Before we even walked inside, we fell in love with the welcoming little entry on the front porch. Two of our indoor/outdoor Bandera woven club chairs paired with some bright, punchy florals add a friendly, inviting touch for guests as they arrive.

One of the first items Pam decided on was this amazing solid birch dining table. She worked with our Trove team to choose a cool mist grey finish that allows the set to blend seamlessly with her existing pieces. The addition of an art print in mottled shades of watercolor blue adds freshness and a classic beaded chandelier warms this space that's perfect for entertaining.

Two upholstered dining benches studded with a bold nailhead trim keep the flow of the dining area open while adding comfortable seating for family dinners and holiday parties.

The dining and kitchen space leads directly into a gorgeous two story living room filled with windows to allow light to pour in from outside. With the open floor plan of Pam's condo, she worked with our team to find ways to create cohesiveness like how her new shaker style captain's chairs mirror the frame of her existing counter stools. A few mango wood and leather folding stools are kept tucked away and easily pulled out for extra seating.

A distressed Shanti bench adds rustic impact to the living area and acts a focal point in the space atop a natural graphic patterned rug.

A pair of our favorite Rothko swivel chairs wrapped in an ivory and black window-pane plaid fabric add a tailored touch to the living room and create versatile seating options. We absolutely love the custom Cody ottomans she chose in this natural linen to finish off the seating area. A Denison iron lantern hung high above the second story living space keeps the classic feel of Pam's home while adding tons of visual impact.

The tones of the living room are all pulled together by this amazing scalloped art print that incorporates subtle shades of lilac, cocoa and slate.

The upstairs living room is so cozy and warm and Pam's two cats, KitKat and Caboodle, definitely agree that it feels like home!

The last space Pam wanted to create was a relaxed and functional outdoor living area on their screened in back porch. She chose two of our upholstered Nandia chairs that are amazingly comfortable while still being completely outdoor friendly. A few galvanized zinc planters add an effortless touch of green to this breezy space where she and her family will be able to enjoy lots of morning cups of coffee and evening glasses of wine.

It was so fun for our team to work together with Pam to create a fresh and updated space in her new condo.
