Chapter 3: P2
Inspirations to Rest Well in the New Year
During the cold winter months when you're tucked away at home for great lengths of time, it's important to create a cozy oasis that you can call your own. This week we're exploring the fresh, modern bedroom spaces we fell in love with at the Memmer Homes Parade of Homes feature.
We were so grateful to collaborate with Kelly Scott Interiors and fill this beautiful home full of Trove finds. Kelly aced the idea of "less is more" in this new traditional home. From the paint colors to the furniture to all the accessories, everything was thoughtfully designed and hand-picked.
The spacious master bedroom features layered shades of blue and cream, creating a tranquil space for rest and relaxation. Wainscoting adds depths to the white accent wall and carefully frames the soft linen bed frame. Natural light streams in through the windows, illuminating the detailed embellishments on the Worth dresser. The Thatcher armchair has a clean silhouette, but a fun fabric adds a playful element.
Friends and family will feel right at home relaxing on the custom upholstered Martin bed frame in the guest bedroom. At the foot of the bed lies the Nola stools. Vintage cotton ropes weaved around a mahogany frame add a touch of natural texture.
In the corner sits the Rothko slipcovered swivel which can be personalized in thousands of different fabrics. We love the coastal pinstripe fabric that Kelly chose to complement this space. Adding a throw to any piece of furniture in your bedroom can create more of a cozy feel.
As you enter the girl’s bedroom, you are greeted by a dreamy haven of ivory and blush. The breathtaking floral wallpaper from Anewall immediately catches your eye, but spend a little more time in this space and you will begin to appreciate all the delicate, feminine details Kelly Scott has incorporated throughout the room. Every detail is thoughtfully placed from the baby’s breath resting on the Urban nightstand to the playful tassels on the throw.
Industrial elements like the gridlocked steel of the Shadow bench and the cool concrete structure of the Farrah end tables add rugged texture to the boy's bedroom. An aerial Sea Plane print hangs above the artfully distressed Rourke dresser, pulling out the deep ocean blue tones in the room. These cool tones are balanced against the warm reclaimed pine on the Karis bed frame.
Bedrooms can sometimes be forgotten about and overshadowed by glamorous kitchen remodels and open living room designs, but it's important to create a private space to recharge and relax at the end of the day. If you've been thinking about refreshing your bedroom in 2019, stop by Trove and we can help you create a custom space that's just for you! What does your dream bedroom look like?
