Designing for Community: The Retreat at Dustin Clubhouse

Modern Clubhouse Interior Design

The M/I Homes team came to us with a floor plan and a vision. They wanted to create a modern community space that felt livable and inviting for the residents at the Retreat at Dustin. They brought us a neutral color palette with rustic accents, and we couldn't wait to get to work and help them furnish the whole clubhouse with fresh Trove finds!

Our favorite “Country House” prints welcome guests as they enter the clubhouse. The entryway is a modern take on the fresh farmhouse look, playing off gray shiplap walls with the gorgeous walnut finish on the Roslyn credenza.

Incorporating iron accent pieces helped us create a modern, industrial feel. The Denison lantern is one of our most versatile pieces of lighting and it complements the Dominguez sideboard beautifully in this space.

Embracing the cozy vibes of the stone fireplace, we opted for a set of leather tufted sofas. To keep it feeling light and modern, we centered the entertaining space around the Stewart coffee table and added the Coraline chairs in a lightweight herringbone fabric. We accented the neutral tones by layering patterns and textures, throwing a buffalo check print over a natural jute rug.

Rustic bar tables and a set of the Laurent bar stools create an open space for neighbors to get together. The natural texture of the wood and a vintage copper mirror add history and character to this space.

The modern, industrial feel extends to the ladies’ room with a set of Tallik mirrors. A tarnished copper ledge softens the look, contrasting beautifully against the dark oxidized bronze. In the men's room, we opted for the subtle gear design of the Werner mirror.

The kitchenette matches the modern look with clean-lined open shelving. This style can be daunting, but it's always best to keep it simple so it doesn't feel cluttered. We accessorized with wooden dice and vintage pool balls to play into the clubhouse feel.

We concluded the tour kicking back on the Chester sofa. We had so much fun collaborating with the design team at M/I Homes to help them create a warm, welcoming space for homeowners. Whether you're renovating a home or designing non-conventional spaces like an office, waiting room, or clubhouse, the Trove team is always here to help with your next project!

I love the Roslyn credenza! What are the dimensions? I couldn’t find it on your website.
