Chapter 1: P4

TROVE On The Go: Heirloom Elements, Original Design

Whenever we're in need of some fresh home decor inspiration, we go straight to one of our TROVE On The Go designers. It's so fun to check out spaces they've helped to create and see how each home comes together in a way that represents and reflects the owners' unique sense of style.

We're so excited to showcase the very first installment of our TROVE On The Go journal series with this beautiful home in Columbus, OH that combines the most amazing collection of Trove pieces and cherished family heirlooms.

We were greeted by the family beagle, Clifford, whose favorite spot for afternoon naps is the window bench in the dining room. The designer had the cushion re-upholstered in a pet friendly fabric that keeps the piece functional without sacrificing the style of their space.

Bold statements are paired with delicate touches in the entryway. We love the addition of these mini prints entitled "Four Seasons" by one of our favorite local artists, Jurate Phillips. Check her out at Gourmet Art Studio

A jet black ceiling might be intimidating to some, but the homeowner Sharon wasn't afraid to take a risk and we love how it creates instant coziness in the space! Her designer helped choose a bright Scion wallpaper to balance it. As a general rule of thumb when choosing wallpaper for your home, the smaller the space, the larger the pattern. This simple and modern zest stripe adds just enough interest without overwhelming.

The Mannered Gold painted walls in the dining room bring warmth to a space that's accented by some of Sharon's favorite accessories. The globe on their dining room table was a gift from her husband on their first Christmas together and of course she wanted to showcase it! She worked with her TOTG designer to create a simple and cohesive centerpiece that makes sense for their busy family who uses the table every evening for homework sessions.

Can we just have a moment to take in this amazing beaded Trove chandelier? It's a perfect playful addition to the space!

The accent chair in the corner belonged to Sharon's mother and carries years of family memories. Sharon and her designer had originally planned on re-upholstering it, but decided against it once they removed the top layer and realized the original fabric worked perfectly with the space they were envisioning!

Sharon fell in love with this vintage pommel horse at Trove the second she saw it and worked with her designer to find the perfect space for it in her home. It functions as an incredible statement piece while adding tons of extra seating. Those amazing custom drapes are Entangle Liquid Gold by Fabricut. They were the jumping off point and created the color and design inspiration for the entire space.

Our absolute favorite thing about this home is the inclusion of meaningful heirloom pieces. It's all about using what you love and being surrounded by the things that are special to you. Sharon used to wake up on Sunday mornings to the sound of her mother playing the piano that is now displayed in her living room. On top sits a beautiful toy sailboat that belonged to Sharon's father who floated it in the Long Island Sound as a young boy.

The map that hangs above the Cosgrove console (one of our favorites!) hides the television and allows the space to easily be used for both relaxing and entertaining. The walls are painted Anew Gray and the ceiling is a slightly lighter Keystone Gray. As the designer pointed out, your ceiling is a fifth wall in your space that shouldn't be ignored. Painting it helps to add even more depth and dimension.

The white mid-century tulip table was original to the home. It was unbolted from the kitchen and given a second life as a game table for family chess nights.

We love how much fun the designer and family had together collaborating, creating and bringing their vision to life through Trove On The Go. Every element in the home reflects the colorful life of its owners and family members and we can't get enough! Don't be afraid to mix in your favorite vintage items with new updated pieces to create your own eclectic collection.

We're excited to bring you with us as we get inspired with new TOTG transformations. Follow along with us here to keep tabs on some of our favorites
